Happy Halloween Eve

My baby and me last Halloween 2012
Man has it been a long time since I've been on here. I'm still alive and kicking. A lot has been going on in my life right now and just trying to figure things out. I'm still sure there's not many people checking up on me but this is still a fun outlet. Well my baby is going to be Ariel this year and I can't wait to see her all dressed up. Hope everyone has a great Halloween and will try to catch up on this thing :)

Easter Recap

I know I'm a little late on my Easter recap. I've been super tired and lazy lately. I'm going to blame that on Aunt Flow coming to town. Better late then never right??

This Easter we hosted breakfast for my parents and mother-in-law at our house.  I have to say I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. I made waffles, country style potatoes, bacon, sausages and scrabble eggs. The adults had mimosas and the baby had plain old OJ. Everyone loved how everything turned out so that makes me one happy camper.

Now since my daughter is the only grandchild right now (still trying to convince the hubby for one more) Easter was like Christmas all over again. I know I went a little crazy this year (yes there was two baskets) but then she got a big basket from my parents and one from my MIL. She loved every second of it and I think that's what makes it worth going over the top. I remember my mom going all out for my brother and I on every holiday and I want to do that for her.

I know, I know, I went crazy

I started a new tradition that I saw on pinterest (love that site!). We planted magic jelly beans the night before Easter so we can get a surprise the next morning. Now this only happens the night before Easter. So on Easter morning we woke up and went outside and our magic jelly beans turned into lollipops. Mila was so excited and loved it. The funny part was she actually didn't like the lollipops that much but she loved pulling them out of the planter lol

Planting the magic jelly beans

We got lollipops

Such a sweet face

We also had an Easter egg hunt at our house. We had to show her what was in the eggs to get her going. Once she saw that there was candy you couldn't stop her. It was fun watching the grandparents get into the fun with her also. She is one lucky girl that has so many people in her life that just love and care for her.

Later that afternoon we went to my husband's side of the family. It's always a good time with them. It was fun seeing all her cousins do the egg hunt and run around looking where we hid them all. With my husband's family us adults love doing the confetti eggs. That's the fun part the adults get to partake in. So everyone is running around smashing them on each other heads (I got the two new girlfriends). It's fun to see the shock on people's face when it happens to them.

My little family that I love

By the end of the night Mila was candy crazy lol So we know she had a good day. I'm so happy that we have such a great family and fun traditions to pass down to our daughter. I hope everyone had a great Easter. I know I did :)

I'm Baaackk

So after being gone on here for like forever I decided to do my first link up with Jake & Holly. (I seem to be the only one who doesn't know how to get the damn link up pic of them on my page ugh) It seems like fun so let's see how it goes.

1. If calories didn't count, I would eat...Almost every deep fried food out there, fries, burgers, ice cream, pizza, sampler platters, Pepsi. I mean this list can go on forever.

2. On my Prom night....My boyfriend (which is my hubby now) was being a total ass. I was 18 and he was 21 at the time. He didn't want to dance all he wanted to do was leave and all I asked was for 1 hour out of him. Finally when he noticed what an ass he was being he started being nice and asked me to dance but I was so mad that I said lets leave lol

3. When I go to the store, I always buy...Juice. My family goes through it like crazy.

4. Family functions typically...Are loud, crazy, sometimes stressful but always tons of fun at the same time. Think  My Big Fat Greek Wedding but Mexican :)

5. I think my blog readers...I only have one follower and she's one of my best friends. I would love to have more followers one day.

6. I'd much rather be.....Be home and in bed. I hate that I have to be at work at 6:45am.

7. I have an obsession with....Nail polish. Let's just say I have the same amount maybe more of a nail salon.

8. My work friends....Are little old Betties. I'm my own boss and don't work with anyone and my customers are my work friends. There all about over the age of 65+  but they are some of the sweetest ladies I know out there.

9. When I created my Facebook account....I only made it because everyone was switching over to there and it was to keep me busy at my old job where I did nothing all day.

10. My least favorite word is...I really can't think of one right now. I guess I would say is C*#t. That's just nasty lol

11. I really don't remember....A lot of my last birthday party. It was a fun night that's all I remember lol

12. Justin Bieber....Is going to have a break down like Britney Spears did if he doesn't get his shit together.

Decorating the Casa

So you all know that we just bought a new house. I love decorating but I'm really having a hard time deciding what I want to do in the end. I have so many different ideas, I wish I had 5 houses to do them in. When we bought the house then just painted all the rooms inside. Problem is they used the same light tan color in all the rooms.  I mean it's a nice color but to me it feels like an apartment where you don't want to paint the walls because you'll have to repaint them white when you leave.

Now I would paint every room a different color and work off of that but my husband loves the color and wants to keep it. Let's just say that's not going to happen lol I've already changed our master room. I did a grey (not too dark) on the walls. We have a built in on one wall that was a dark brown. I painted the trim and built in all white. I did black touches like with the bed, night stands and pictures frames. I love how our room turned out and for being a first time painter I gave myself a pat on the back ;) Once I have everything put a way I'll take a pic of the room. For my daughters room I tried to keep it the same so that the transition would be easy. So I kept it a light purple. Our living room, dining room and kitchen connect. So I'm keeping that the tan color and my hallways that color too. For the living room and dining room were doing like a dark browns with touches of light gold and a deep teal. It's sort of hard to explain but once again when I have it all done I will post up pictures.

My guest bedroom, entry way and my daughters/guest bathroom I have no idea how I want to decorated it. So of course I go to trusty pinterest to get some ideas. Let me know what you think and if there is any one out there reading this tell me some of your ideas.

For the entry way I was thinking of these ideas:

I love signs so this would be a nice way to add the ones I have

I have a piece of furniture just like this that I want to paint but I want to do a deep teal in chalk paint

Have a piece like this too but not sure what color I want to paint it. Maybe a Kelly green??

I'm loving this color combo for the guest room

I really like this for the extra bath it's not too much

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Pinterest strikes again

So every woman out there knows about pinterest and how addicting it can be. If not head over to pinterest.com and start looking at all the cool ideas they have. Trust me you can be on there for hours. I know I can.

I like going on pinterest and getting tons of ideas but the one I love the most is different dishes to make for my family for dinner. Last night I tried a chicken, potatoes and green beans dish. Well my husband hates green beans and he wanted me to change it to broccoli but I hate broccoli so what I did is doubled up on potatoes (if you know me I will choose potatoes over anything) and I made cream corn on the side. Let me tell you my husband loved this! He said I kid you not "this is probably the best dish you ever made" lol It's quick, easy, inexpensive and little clean up.

Ingredients:

3-4 Skinless Chicken Breasts

Red potatoes, cut into quarters ( I used rustic potatoes works just as good)

Green Beans (frozen, canned, or fresh)

1/2 stick of melted butter (I miss read this and used a whole stick. The more butter the better I say)

1 packet of Italian dressing mix ( or any seasoning mix)

Directions:

Arrange in 9x13 dish. Potatoes on one side, chicken in the middle and green beans on the other side. Sprinkle with a packet of the Italian dressing mix and then top with a melted stick of butter. Cover with foil and bake at 350F for 1 hour. Enjoy!

Now my version is not the healthiest but the little bit of butter helped and I love potatoes over anything else and I just had cream corn on hand and that's what my family likes. You can use different veggies that fit for your family. I also used 2 big chicken breast and just cut them in half. They were the perfect size and it was enough food with left overs for my husband, toddler and I. I also sprinkled a little salt and pepper over the entire dish. I hope you enjoy this dish as much as me and my family did. I will for sure be putting this dish in the dinner rotation.

My version of the dish (I forgot to take a pic till after we starting digging in)
