Decorating the Casa

So you all know that we just bought a new house. I love decorating but I'm really having a hard time deciding what I want to do in the end. I have so many different ideas, I wish I had 5 houses to do them in. When we bought the house then just painted all the rooms inside. Problem is they used the same light tan color in all the rooms.  I mean it's a nice color but to me it feels like an apartment where you don't want to paint the walls because you'll have to repaint them white when you leave.

Now I would paint every room a different color and work off of that but my husband loves the color and wants to keep it. Let's just say that's not going to happen lol I've already changed our master room. I did a grey (not too dark) on the walls. We have a built in on one wall that was a dark brown. I painted the trim and built in all white. I did black touches like with the bed, night stands and pictures frames. I love how our room turned out and for being a first time painter I gave myself a pat on the back ;) Once I have everything put a way I'll take a pic of the room. For my daughters room I tried to keep it the same so that the transition would be easy. So I kept it a light purple. Our living room, dining room and kitchen connect. So I'm keeping that the tan color and my hallways that color too. For the living room and dining room were doing like a dark browns with touches of light gold and a deep teal. It's sort of hard to explain but once again when I have it all done I will post up pictures.

My guest bedroom, entry way and my daughters/guest bathroom I have no idea how I want to decorated it. So of course I go to trusty pinterest to get some ideas. Let me know what you think and if there is any one out there reading this tell me some of your ideas.

For the entry way I was thinking of these ideas:

I love signs so this would be a nice way to add the ones I have

I have a piece of furniture just like this that I want to paint but I want to do a deep teal in chalk paint

Have a piece like this too but not sure what color I want to paint it. Maybe a Kelly green??

I'm loving this color combo for the guest room

I really like this for the extra bath it's not too much

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Pinterest strikes again

So every woman out there knows about pinterest and how addicting it can be. If not head over to pinterest.com and start looking at all the cool ideas they have. Trust me you can be on there for hours. I know I can.

I like going on pinterest and getting tons of ideas but the one I love the most is different dishes to make for my family for dinner. Last night I tried a chicken, potatoes and green beans dish. Well my husband hates green beans and he wanted me to change it to broccoli but I hate broccoli so what I did is doubled up on potatoes (if you know me I will choose potatoes over anything) and I made cream corn on the side. Let me tell you my husband loved this! He said I kid you not "this is probably the best dish you ever made" lol It's quick, easy, inexpensive and little clean up.

Ingredients:

3-4 Skinless Chicken Breasts

Red potatoes, cut into quarters ( I used rustic potatoes works just as good)

Green Beans (frozen, canned, or fresh)

1/2 stick of melted butter (I miss read this and used a whole stick. The more butter the better I say)

1 packet of Italian dressing mix ( or any seasoning mix)

Directions:

Arrange in 9x13 dish. Potatoes on one side, chicken in the middle and green beans on the other side. Sprinkle with a packet of the Italian dressing mix and then top with a melted stick of butter. Cover with foil and bake at 350F for 1 hour. Enjoy!

Now my version is not the healthiest but the little bit of butter helped and I love potatoes over anything else and I just had cream corn on hand and that's what my family likes. You can use different veggies that fit for your family. I also used 2 big chicken breast and just cut them in half. They were the perfect size and it was enough food with left overs for my husband, toddler and I. I also sprinkled a little salt and pepper over the entire dish. I hope you enjoy this dish as much as me and my family did. I will for sure be putting this dish in the dinner rotation.

My version of the dish (I forgot to take a pic till after we starting digging in)
