Christmas Recap

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!! I had 4 days off from work and man was it nice!! We we're busy from Saturday all the way up to Christmas morning. It was tons of fun getting together with family and starting new traditions with my baby girl. Saturday I had all of Mila's cousins come over with their parents and we all made graham cracker houses (to cheap to buy the gingerbread ones). I had my first pinterest fail. I thought it would be a good idea to make the houses before everyone came over so that the kids just stuck on the candy and decorate them. Bad idea because I didn't realize you need two sets of hands. In the end these houses looked like crack houses lol but the kids loved decorating them. It was fun getting all the kids together and hanging out with all the moms and dads. We haven't all hung out in a while so it was nice to catch up and we are now all making this a Christmas tradition to do with the kids. And hopefully we all can get together more often this following year!

Sunday we went to my parents house to bake cookies with my mom/nana. One of the best memories that I have from Christmas time is baking and decorating cookies with my mom. She would have every cookie cutter and decoration imaginable. It was fun to start this tradition now with my own daughter. My mom went all out again and Mila had so much fun baking with her Nana. It's moments like these that we all will remember the rest of our lifes.

Love these two! Such a fun day

Christmas eve we spent it with my husband's family and that is always fun. We stay up till midnight and wish ever one Feliz Navidad and open gifts. I didn't really take any photos this year which is a bummer. I usually am on top of taking lots of pictures. Anyways Christmas morning we spent it with my family which is nice because we just sit around in our pj's and watch all the movies we got for Christmas. It was so much fun watching Mila open gifts this year because she was so into it and ripping those gifts open.

I hope you all had a great Christmas with you're loved ones and we're able to make some great memories. Not sure if I'll be back on before the new year but if not I want to wish everyone a fun and safe Happy New Year!!

Prayers to Connecticut

Literally felt sick to my stomach after hearing about the Connecticut elementary school shooting! Really an elementary school? Why innocent children?!! This is why so many people are home schooling their children because of people like that. As a mom I could only imagine  what is running through the parents head. To not know whats going on for hours and wondering if your kid is alive or not. I just don't know what this world is coming to. First you have that guy shooting innocent people at the mall now we have this. It's just so sad specially right before the holidays. I mean if your going through some hard times don't take it out on innocent people let alone innocent children! There are people out there that can help you out.  I'm still at a loss for words….My heart and prayers go out to their families. I'll be holding my daughter a little bit closer tonight.

A better day

So yesterday I was having one of those pmsing days were every little thing bugs you and makes you want to explode lol but thank goodness I woke up today in such a better mood and ready to get this day going. I have tons of errands to run on my break today before I pick up my daughter from preschool. Then tonight we go have dinner with my parents. It's been a nice new tradition we've been doing so my parents can see their grand baby more and I actually look forward to it (It's also nice my mom always makes my favorite meals). Hope everyone has a great day!

Blessed

So last night I was watching Teen Mom 2 (one of my guilty pleasures to watch) and I just couldn't think of how blessed I am. You see these young moms having kids and one's divorced after what 6 months of marriage, one doesn't want to stop smoking pot & take care of her kid, one doesn't know if she wants her ex-boyfriend back or her baby's daddy and the other one her boyfriend just keeps coming back and treating her like trash and leaving her yet again. I get it's hard because your always going to have that connection with your baby's father but after he called you a fat ugly stretch mark witch with a B and wrote something nasty about their daughter in a text on national TV (he did that when she was on 16 & Pregnant), I would of been done with him then and there and he would be lucky if I let him see our daughter. I know it has to be hard being a single mom and dealing with all the problems and playing both mom and dad. I took my daughter on a little over a week vacation back east to visit family and my husband had to stay be hide and work and by day five I called him and said he's never going to leave me because it was hard just to handle her on my own and not have that support of him helping me if I need a break. (the baby and I were both deadly sick at the time of our trip so that made it even worse) It's just made me think that I am so lucky to have a man who stuck by my side when WE got pregnant. My husband and I were dating for about 7yrs and then one day I found out I was pregnant. No I wasn't married before and I didn't do it the traditional way but my man could of left me or said how do I know that it's my baby and pulled some stupid card like that. But instead he stuck by my side we decided to get married and this baby has just made our bond even stronger. Watching him play and take care of our daughter just makes me love him even more. My husband takes great care of my daughter and I and maned up and took care of his responsibilities. I truly thank god for what he has given me. I hope one day these girls can find a man in there life that loves and treats them and their child with the respect that they deserve!

TGIF

Yay it's Friday and the weekend is here!! I pushed myself to get a lot of errands and cleaning done this week. I was even able to finally decorate my house and put up our Christmas tree. This is the first year my daughter Mila helped me and she loved decorating the tree. I was also able to cross one more off my Christmas list. So now I just have 2 more to get gifts for and then I'll be done. Yay me!! Yesterday I went to target (which is always a bad idea b/c I spend more then I should) to get a few things and I was able to get my toys for my toy drive at work. I'm so happy that I will be able to put a smile on some little boy's or girl's face Christmas morning. I hope you all are giving a gift (doesn't even have to be huge and costly) to someone in need. I can't wait for it to be 1pm so my weekend can begin. Lots of family time and holiday stuff going on this weekend and I know my husband is looking forward to the free UFC fights this saturday. I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend!! Here's a pic of all the toys I'm donating this year and I spent under 40 dollars :)

Giving Back

So one of my favorite holidays is here, Christmas!! (Halloween is my fav) I love Christmas because all the family traditions come out, new and old and the family spends lots of time together. I also love it because it's a great time to give back to those in need. At my job I do a big toy drive and donate all the toys to a foundation that I've worked with for a few years now called Christmas 365. What that foundation does is adopt families for Christmas and the whole year. So we try to help them as much as we can. All the ladies that come into my work have such big hearts and are so giving. This year why don't you donate a toy or time to someone in need. If you see someone on the street cold and looks hungry go buy them a meal around the corner and hand it to them. That could be the only meal that they've had all day. If you want to go all out maybe go to a Target, Walmart etc. and get a blanket, socks, soap and make them a food bag. Or help out at a shelter Christmas day handing out food. What you think would be little can actually mean a lot to someone else. I want to teach my daughter to give back, be humble and appreciate what she has. One of the traditions I started with her is to pick out a toy and we go and donate it to the local fire station for the toy drive called Sparks of Love. It's great to give back and makes me feel better about myself and makes my heart grow just a little bit bigger each time. Let's spread Christmas cheer all around!!
